With nearly 30 years in the biz and and over twenty million albums sold, the B-52s are music royalty. R.E.M. followed the B-52s path out of Athens Georgia to superstardom. The B-52's created a sound and an on-stage presence that was equal parts Warhol, B-movie kitsch and twisted Americana. It was a sound way ahead of its time. Since their early days, the B-52's have offered one of the most unique concert experiences. Timeless alternative masterpieces like "Rock Lobster," "Planet Claire" and "Private Idaho" speak volumes to the bands widespread fans. "Channel Z," "Love Shack" and "Roam", have become party classics.

The original band included Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland, Cindy Wilson and Ricky Wilson. Sadly, Wilson perished in 1985. The B-52s regrouped for the now-classic Cosmic Thing in 1989.

Since then, the B-52's have been touring with a larger band, which now includes keyboardist Pat Irwin, bassist Sara Lee and Zachary Alford on drums.
