Donell Jones, the Detroit-born son of a gospel singer, has written and produced songs for 702, Silk, Brownstone and LaFace labelmate Usher, as well as contributed vocal arrangements on Madonna's 1994 album, “Bedtime Stories”. His 1996 debut album for La Face Records, “My Heart”, featured two hit singles, “In The Hood” and “Knocks Me Off My Feet” (a cover of the 1976 Stevie Wonder song). His sophomore album, “Where I Wanna Be”, was an even bigger success, featuring the smashes “Shorty (Got Her Eyes on Me)” and “U Know What's Up”. “Life Goes On” was released in 2002.
