Natalie Merchant, born in 1963 in Jamestown, New York, is a renowned musician and performer whose roots in music run deep. Growing up in a household filled with musical influence, her Italian grandfather played guitar and mandolin, while her mother actively encouraged her children to study music. Merchant’s childhood was filled with visits to the symphony and concerts, laying the groundwork for her artistic development.
