Aaron Robin Hall III, born on August 10, 1964, in New York City, is an American R&B singer and songwriter. Growing up in Brooklyn, Hall began his musical journey in the church choir during his youth. He gained his first professional experience with Hezekiah Walker's Love Fellowship Choir before achieving mainstream success as a founding member of the R&B and new jack swing group Guy, which he joined in 1988.
As the lead vocalist for Guy, Hall contributed to the group's self-titled debut album, which was released in 1988 and became commercially successful. The album featured several hit songs, including "Groove Me," "I Like," and "Piece of My Love," helping to establish Guy as a prominent act within the R&B genre. The group continued to thrive in the early 1990s, releasing additional hits such as "Do Me Right" and "Let’s Chill," and contributed to the soundtrack of the film "Boomerang" in 1992.
In the early 1990s, Aaron Hall sought to pursue a solo career, resulting in the release of his breakout single "Don't Be Afraid," which achieved significant success by topping the R&B charts and reaching the top forty on mainstream charts. His debut solo album, "The Truth," was released in 1993 and included popular tracks like "Get a Little Freaky with Me," "Let's Make Love," "I Miss You," and "When You Need Me."
Hall continued his solo career with subsequent albums, including "Inside of You," released in 1998, and "Adults Only: The Final Album" in 2005. These works featured songs such as "Curiosity," "Scent of Attraction," "Toss it Up," "All the Places (I Will Kiss You)," and "Why You Tryin' to Play Me." Throughout his career, Hall has demonstrated an ability to blend traditional R&B with contemporary sounds.
In addition to his solo endeavors, Aaron Hall has collaborated with various artists across the music industry. Notably, he worked with Jewel on the song "Gonna Give it to Ya" for the soundtrack of the 1994 film "Above the Rim." He also collaborated with other R&B musicians like R. Kelly and his brother, Damion Hall, with whom he recorded “U Will Know” for the film "Jason’s Lyric."
