Amy Grant is a multi-platinum, award-winning American singer-songwriter and musician with a career spanning nearly four decades. Born on November 25, 1960, in Augusta, Georgia, Grant began her music journey in contemporary Christian music (CCM) before crossing over to pop music in the mid-1980s, earning her the title of "The Queen of Christian Pop."

Grant's music career started at a young age, with her first album, "Amy Grant," released in 1978, when she was just 17 years old. She went on to release several successful albums, including "Age to Age" (1982), which contained the signature track "El Shaddai" and became the first Christian album by a solo artist to be certified gold (1983) and platinum (1985).

In the mid-1980s, Grant began to widen her audience, releasing the album "Unguarded" (1985), which surprised some fans with its mainstream sound. She scored her first Billboard No. 1 song in 1986 with "The Next Time I Fall," a duet with Peter Cetera.
