Andrew Carmellini is a prominent American chef and restaurateur, born in 1971 in Ohio. His passion for the culinary arts began at a young age, as he started experimenting with flavors in his family kitchen when he was just fourteen years old. After completing his studies at the Culinary Institute of America, Carmellini launched his professional career by working in various Italian restaurants in New York City. He later traveled to Italy to further immerse himself in the region's cuisine, enhancing his culinary skills and knowledge.

In the mid-1990s, Carmellini broadened his focus to include French cuisine, securing positions at notable establishments such as Le Cirque and Café Boulud in New York City.
