Bonnie Raitt is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter born on November 8, 1949. Her career, spanning over five decades, showcases a unique blend of blues, rock, folk, and country influences, a style she cultivated after picking up the guitar at age twelve. Though she initially pursued academics at Radcliffe College, Raitt ultimately found her voice in music, emerging from the blues and folk club circuits.

Raitt's 1971 self-titled debut album, released on Warner Bros., garnered critical acclaim for her guitar skills and thoughtful song selections. Over the next few years, Raitt released a series of acclaimed albums, including Give It Up (1972) and Takin' My Time (1973), establishing her as a formidable artist. In 1977, Raitt achieved a commercial breakthrough with her cover of the Del Shannon classic "Runaway." However, she was unable to capitalize on the success until 1989 when she released her tenth studio album, Nick of Time.

Nick of Time was a major hit, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. This achievement was followed by two more multi-platinum albums: Luck of the Draw (1991) and Longing in Their Hearts (1994), which generated several hit singles.
