Declan Patrick MacManus, better known by his stage name Elvis Costello, was born on August 25, 1954. He began his career far from the stage, working as a computer programmer in the 1970s while performing in local clubs during his free time. His musical journey took a pivotal turn when a demo tape caught the attention of Jake Riviera, an executive at an independent record label.
