Jon Secada, born Juan Francisco Secada Ramirez in 1961 in Havana, Cuba, is a celebrated singer, songwriter, and musician who has significantly impacted the music industry. After emigrating with his family to Hialeah, Florida, at the age of twelve, Secada developed a deep passion for music during his middle school years. He pursued this passion academically at the University of Miami, where he studied jazz and earned a Master’s degree in Jazz Vocal Performance. His talent and dedication led him to an early career as a backup singer for Gloria Estefan, an opportunity that would prove pivotal in launching his trajectory as a solo artist.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Secada worked closely with Estefan, not only singing backup but also co-writing songs.
