Lucinda Williams, born in 1953 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, grew up in a musically rich environment, influenced by her literary professor father and pianist mother. The album featured the song “Passionate Kisses,” which would become one of her most notable successes when it was covered by Mary Chapin Carpenter, earning Williams a Grammy Award for Best Country Song in 1994.
