Bam Margera BIO

American skateboarder and television personality Bam Margera was born Brandon Cole Margera in 1979 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. As a teenager, Bam began to film himself and his friends performing various stunts, which turned into the CKY (Camp Kill Yourself) video series. The series began to develop a cult following, garnering the attention the producers behind MTV’s Jackass.

Margera made his big screen debut in the original film Jackass: The Movie, and went on to participate in all subsequent films in the Jackass series. MTV gave him his own series, Viva La Bam, in 2003 and the series ran for three seasons. For the remainder of the decade, Bam embarked on a number of endeavors in entertainment, hosting his own radio program on Sirius Satellite Radio; launching his own music label, Filthy Note Records; directing music videos for the bands HIM and The 69 Eyes; and launching his own band, Fuckface Unstoppable.

Most recently, Bam Margera announced the production of a documentary, I Need Time to Stay Useless, which he claims is autobiographical. Margera and his mother recently appeared on the VH1 reality show, Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn, in an episode in which they explore Bam’s self-sabotaging and destructive behavior.
