Alter Bridge is an American rock band originating from Orlando, Florida, formed in 2004 by former Creed members Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall, and Scott Phillips. They were joined by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Myles Kennedy, completing the initial lineup shortly before Creed's official dissolution in June 2004. The band quickly signed with Wind-up Records and released their debut album, One Day Remains, in August 2004. Although the album received mixed reviews, it reached No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America later that year.

Following their debut, Alter Bridge released their second album, Blackbird, in 2007. The album was better received critically, marking a significant turning point in their career and initiating a strong collaboration with producer Michael Baskette. Blackbird peaked at No. 13 on the U.S. charts and was certified silver in the UK. The album included popular singles such as "Rise Today" and "Watch Over You," which helped solidify the band's presence in the rock scene.

In 2010, Alter Bridge released their third studio album, AB III, which received critical acclaim and commercial success. Its lead single, "Isolation," topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, further expanding their audience. The band continued to tour extensively, participating in major festivals and events, including the Carnival of Madness Tour and Soundwave Festival in Australia. After a brief hiatus during which members pursued solo projects, they released Fortress in 2013, featuring the single "Addicted to Pain."

The band's subsequent albums have showcased their musical evolution and consistent popularity. The Last Hero, released in 2016, marked their first album to reach the top ten of the Billboard 200 since their debut. This was followed by Walk the Sky in 2019 and its companion album Walk the Sky 2.0 in 2020. The band's seventh studio album, Pawns & Kings, was released on October 14, 2022.

As of 2023, Alter Bridge has sold over 5 million records worldwide and continues to maintain a strong presence in the rock music scene. They are known for their powerful performances and deep, introspective songwriting, consistently appealing to both fans and critics alike. The original lineup remains intact, continuing to create new music and perform together, building on their legacy as one of the prominent rock bands of their generation.
